Yes, and you are much more limited too. And at times with some work
you can find that what you have to do in VB takes multiple lines to
do what can be done a very succinct and obvious to a fluent C reader.

Nope, just Bob doesnt understand its fundamental philosophy. Its meant
as a step up above assembler, much more succinct and readable than assembler,
and hardly limiting you at all. Its not meant to be a trainer wheels language
which limits what you can do to get more safety. Coz those trainer wheels are
a fucking pain in the arse when you dont need them.
