Exactly.  If such folks would only pay attention to the lamentations from 
their very souls, they would turn away from such abuse.  Instead, they bury 
it behind layers of irrational fears that they use to justify their abusive 
attitudes and behaviors.
 
The only difference between them and ex-Nazis is one of degree.
