Nope! :-) I finally got a swapped modem and things really have
improved! I actually see 33.6 connects now!

What I HAVE noticed though is that if you set S95 to a high value,
like I have mine at 43. Save everything into NVRAM, and always
initialize the modem aith ATZ, that those junk characters appear.
If I set S95 down to something like 4, it goes away... When I set it
back up to S95=43&W. It's gone for the first call, then it re-appears.
Can someone verify this with me? (Try it! )
-> Looking at your example above, Binkley could be timing out if you told
-> it to answer after the first ring. Try setting it to answer after
-> three rings (in your case), and/or allowing it more time to make the
-> connection. I allow Portal 80 seconds, giving everything plenty of
-> time to intercept the CID info, go through the EMSI handshake, send
-> connection info, load the BBS, etc.
->
I have Bink set to answer on the second ring.... Because of the junk
characters, and the no answer result code in there.. it ends up
answering on the TRUE THIRD Ring.. BInk see if as the second ring in a
row. :-)
Adios~
