Yes, he is truly lemon yellow. Syd is approx. 4 1/2 years old I have owned 
him for almost 2 years. When he was a baby he was purchased by a friend of my 
sisters for her boyfriend who already owned a Tiel. At the time she paid 
somewhere around $150.00 for him (Greys and Lutinos sell for $50-70 here) and 
was told he was "a fancy". I did not see him for the first two years until he 
came into my sisters possesion when his owners were forced to give him away.
 After my sister had owned him awhile I paid a visit. I couldn't figure out 
what was supposed to be so special about him, he was a washed out grey dingy 
bird. My sister is one of those people that should NEVER own a bird after 
repeatedly insisting he be fed proper food,bathed, cage cleaned etc I gave 
her an ultimatum. Either turn the bird over to me willingly or I was going to 
take him by force. He arrived the next day and was in worse shape then the 
last time I had seen him.After a round of antibiotics to clean up his sinus 
infection and a few weeks of top of the line food, fresh veggies and so on 
his color started to improve.
 The real dramatic change came with his next molt. I couldn't believe the 
beautiful yellow feathers, then I understood why he had been sold as a fancy.
I never knew yellow Tiels existed (did you know that there are also blue) I 
have seen one picture in Birdtalk of a yellow.
 It has taken alot of love and patience with Syd to make him feel part of the 
family.He was not only malnurished but wild and extremely hand shy. I have 
found out that when he chirped loudly my sister would either cover him for 
hours during the day or walk over and bang the cage, he had never owned a toy 
and didn't know how to play. He now loves to play, chirps his little heart 
out and is starting to give kisses of his own free will. Sorry if I rambled 
but he means alot to me.
