My 1956 Chilton manual had this on the 1940-1948 Cadillac V-8:
Firing order:  1-8-7-3-6-5-4-2
Cylinder numbering:  Front Right....2-4-6-8
                     Front Left.....1-3-5-7
The firing order for the flathead Caddy shows as being different
than the 1949-up OHV, by the way.
