| subject: | But it`s echolisted? |
01-16-05 20:10, Roy J. Tellason told James Bradley about But it's echolisted? Well, how do, Roy? RJT> James Bradley wrote in a message to Bo Simonsen: JB> I just noticed LINUX was expounded to include a number of branches. RJT> I used to carry a bunch of product-specific echos here, but many if RJT> not most of them are pretty much dead. And as far as the stuff So much for the "Non-commercial" credo. Heck, even the USR specific echo was seeing little traffic. I think the last message posted there was from me asking for a Linux program to tweak the resources of their PnPray PCI job. Do I recall right that there is a "pnpdump" or some such suite for that task? (I know, it's not the LINUX echo, bust since I brought it up...) RJT> that's getting listed goes, look at how many of those are RJT> gated (and filtered!) newsgroups. Hell, if I want RJT> newsgroups I can go get 'em. I don't need to be pulling RJT> them in via fido these days. You know, I had a gratis dialup account for over ten years. Quickly, my time spent reading the crap was replaced with trying to keep Windows up to date. JB> ... It's a good thing; you can't have it all. Where would you put JB> it? RJT> One would assume that "all" would include that! How many penis enlargements can one man utilize? RJT> Getting back to electronics, I carry a number of mailing PULEEZE! RJT> lists here on my other box. And in one of them this guy RJT> posted, not once but in two separate messages, as to how RJT> a transformer not only changed the voltage but also changed RJT> the AC from the power line to DC. I let it go the first RJT> time but the second time I saw it I finally had to jump in RJT> there and say that he didn't know what the heck he was RJT> talking about...! Did you tell him about the box of DC transformers you could sell him? Their more special than the regular kind, didn't you know. My nephew one year wanted NOTHING but "Transformers" for his birthday. I told him about the box of transformers I had in the garage. (No, not *one* of those were the DC variety. ;-) You taught yourself electronics, didn't you? I've been trying to increase my understanding for some time now. (Hysteresis, and the guts of the semi-conductor gates are about my limits.) Could you recommend some reading material? I could get in and out of a TV without redoing the hairdo, but if the part aint burnt, I have to look for the "fix-me" silk screen on the PC board. ... perfect pitch by correspondence... Now *that's* a perfect pitch! ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.20 --- Maximus 3.01* Origin: -=-= Calgary Organization (403) 242-3221 (1:134/77) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 134/77 140/1 106/2000 633/267 |
