That's what I liked about the ICOM R71A.  Filters were available for some of 
the different wavelengths.  But, this Sangean is one of the less expensive 
jobs.  Until I get some kind of technical manual for this set, I'm not going 
to fool around with it for fear of blowing it out.  I'll leave that to the 
technical expertise of those in the know.

Nevertheless, sometimes the reception surprises me quite a bit. I've logged 
some stations which some say are hard to find.  But, those references were to 
Japanese and other Asian stations.  My QTH is in San Diego, CA (sort of a 
hop, skip and jump to Asia).  The swls in Europe drool when I report those 
Asia and Pacific loggings.
