RS> Thats one advantage of the approach MS has taken with fax support RS> with WFWG. You basically just tell the system to send it, by the fax RS> appearing as another printer. And if it discovers its got WFWG at RS> the other end of the call it will even send the file in binary format RS> over the link, not as a fax at all. Rather elegant in some ways. BG> But isn't that just typically good UI stuff? I mean, PMFax BG> does exactly the same thing here, even down to simply dragging BG> a WFW document icon and dropping it onto the PMFax icon, and it BG> sends the fax in the background, completely seamlessly. I prefer BG> to do it manually myself, but that's just my way of feeling BG> that I still have some say in how I operate the machine. |-) We are talking about two different things here. Yes, they both just treat the fax as a printer. BUT WFWG will auto recognise that it sees another WFWG at the other end, and send the file as a normal binary file to the other end if it does. No farting around with OCRing it back to a text file etc at the receiving end in that case. Totally transparently to the use. THATs very elegant for a droid. BG> Like that Arthur fellow in Aust_Point (who disappeared BG> with his tail between his legs when his stupid errors BG> were pointed out). Not even the courtesy of a reply, BG> or a "sorry, you're right after all". What a wanker. BG> Must be off having his SOH repaired. |-) RS> It way actually young Johnny Davidson. RS> Back yesterday for more snide remarks |-) BG> Yeah, noticed that yesterday. Although I must admit, I think BG> he may have a SOH after all. I don't think he was actually BG> having a genuine go at you, but then I have been wrong before. Sure, I didnt mean that he was just doing an Arfur, Arfur appears to have none at all. Both John and Andrew do appear to have woken up eventually to what was going on. Tho I notice the Macedonian managed to go totally incandescent with rage. Very amusing to see what reaction he got in Z3_Tech too |-) BG> Yep, and you see the same thing with Lewin and his Rockwell zealot mates. RS> Yeah, havent seen such florid conspiracy theory stuff for quite a while. BG> Biggest problem there is that some people are easily bluffed, BG> and people like Lewin and Dave tend to intentionally put BG> themselves across as some types of "modem gurus" (must be an ego BG> thing, I guess), filling the heads of those who don't know any BG> better with all manner of bullshit. Grant and John Tia aren't much BG> better either, and I notice that Dave is at it again today too. |-) Yeah, great spectator sport |-) RS> Still, we are getting better, not too many people sacrificed their RS> children to the gods to make the drought go away this time around. BG> Wish Russell's parents had sacrificed him though. Not too late is it? |-) RS> Yeah, still havent quite worked out what flavor of FRZ they are. BG> Presbyterian or Lutheran is my guess, possibly the former. What's yours? Dunno. At once time I thought they might even be jewish with a last name like that, they can be extremely florid in the ultra orthodox, but thats since become clear its totally wrong. There was some support for that quite stupid stuff the pope came out with lately on the new sins, which made me wonder if it was even catholic. Short story is that I dunno. --- PQWK202* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
