(This is from Carol:)
Yoo Hoo, David!
On June 7th '97 you wrote to me:

Well, the big TLK craze started three years ago this month. Disney's
modus operandi seems to be flood the market with merchandise once when
the movie is out and then again with the movie comes to home video and
then taper off until the movie comes back from moratorium 7-10 years later.
DM> CK> You might also try www.nffc.org, the WWW site of the National
DM> CK> Fantasy Fan Club for Disneyana Enthusiasts, a non-profit club of
DM> CK> Disney collectors and fans all over the US and a chapter in
DM> CK> Australia.

DM> I would really love to, Carol =(.
DM>
DM> But I can't.
Try converting German money into US, and joining the NFFC via snail mail:
$20 US Funds per year for individuals and families

You can also get a kit from the club on how to form your own local chapter.
DM> You know what really helped, so far? My wonderful friends,
DM> Disney collectors. We stick together! =) They're all from the Lion King
DM> muck, and without them... Oh my... what could I have missed..
So the friends you make on TLK Muck can't assist you with WWW browsing
for TLK collectibles?
DM> =( Well, that's sure very nice, but New York (sta{t/g}e) is not
DM> here.
Ever hear of "international tours"? ;-) The show in a few years will
likely perform in Europe somewhere.
DM> CK> There will likely be a new soundtrack and new merchandising
DM> CK> connected with the show. Be patient 'til the show opens. :-)
DM>
DM> Hey! =) A new soundtrack? With new songs? Or the old songs?
DM> Both? Anyway, I wanna get it! =) I know I'm just far far away but if I
DM> can somehow buy one of these Soundtracks when they're out there, I'd be
DM> happy to! I bet I'll have to wait a long time 'til I can buy it here.
DM> Thank you so much for this info! =) Do you know something about the TLK
DM> sequel, too? Jungle Cubs will be out here in a few days! Is it good?
DM> Should I get it?
Well, the soundtrack for the BatB Broadway show was very different from the
animated movie. I know someone who is very into BatB and has the Broadway
soundtracks as done for that show in all the countries it's played it. So
while I do not know the content of the show yet, I can tell you that a
soundtrack and related show merchandise will probably be different than when
TLK was released on film. As to the rest of your questions I leave the
answers up those reading the Fidonet Disney Echo.
Just a thought: Since you can send and receive Internet E-mail, perhaps
you can receive the TLK Mailing List. Or perhaps you can request your
BBS sysop to carry the Usenet newsgroups alt.fan.lion-king and rec.arts.
disney.animation and rec.arts.theater.musicals (I think that is what it's
called, which discusses Broadway theatre). a.f.l.k and r.a.d.animation are
the sources of whatever I know. Hope this helps.
