That's pretty much what I meant, and you CAN actually use vehicles beyond
just driving them (tanks fire, etc.). I don't think you could really do much
with a robot in a reactor beyond pushing things around, but that still opens
up a few possibilities.
For example, let's say you needed to blow a hole in a wall near said
reactor. You don't have any explosives of your own. However, there IS an
explosive barrel inside the reactor area (go figure), and a robot
convieniently placed in front of it. You switch to the robot's control and
then proceed to "ram" the barrel until it gets near the crack which would
trigger the explosion; and then, you shoot the barrel, exploding the wall and
continuing your game.
