DM> I though megabits were less. But there is another thing i read that
DM> says that psx games and n64 games take up ABOUT the ssame amoubnt of
DM> space for the Actual games
DM> then the psx just adds movies and sound.
TA> An average PS game (Excluding the FMV) uses up more space than an
TA> average N64 game, but The n64 uses Cart Compression (like the old
TA> Genesis/Snes carts that could store almost a 100 megabit in
TA> a 32 megabit cart)..
TA> Compare Turok on PC & N64, Virtually identical games but
TA> the N64 version only takes up 64 megabit (8 Megabyte) of
TA> space..
TA> With todays compression techniques you could theoretically
TA> fit 150 Megabyte on a cart (256 megabit cart)
But you don't see cd games that use all their space for
games. It's mostly all the extra's like cd quality music
and movies and sounds effects.
Compare Mortal Kombat Mytholigies on psx (whats the x for? ) and
the n64. Both are the same. But the n64's version doesn't have
cut scenes. But it does include screen shots from psx's movies.
WWF WARZONE is the same: Both versions are indentical, but psx
has each wrestler's music when he enters the ring. And it has
movies.
