You could try Kermit,  either Kermit 95 (Windows 9x or NT/2000/XP -
commmercial) or C-Kermit (Unix, Linux, various other os's - free).

A thread beginnning with message-id 3d6e39ea{at}yorrell.saard.net in
comp.protocols.kermit.misc might give you some idea of its capabilities.
