So why can't heat convection be used to move the whole water mass? I ask
because my old home had a hot water radiator system which worked quite
well without any pump whatsoever and it provided ample heat even in -40
degree weather. Perhaps you might look into considering wood pellets or
chips so that feeding the fire could be an automated task?
