LE> I think your best bet is simply to stick with the PM and CP References LE> included with most [all?] PM-aware OS/2 compiler LE> packages. I use this as my major reference. My "intro" Trouble is, i would like to get the student version which usually are only shipped with online docs. So i will still need to get a good os/2 reference book. The online docs are good for checking syntax and the like, but i always like to keep a good reference book handy as well. LE> the API function and message help. A lot of LE> experimenting is necessary, but you learn a lot. A LE> serial debugger and remote terminal can be a total LE> lifesaver in this regard. I have a spare Comms port, and an old ascii terminal :) Do programming packages support serial programming, or is it something built into os/2 itself? I know the Amiga had something like that, which was very handy for debugging. From what i have seen, OS/2 PM apps are event driven in a similar manner to how the amiga's GUI works. LE> It can also help to have Windows programming knowledge. LE> It can also hinder ! OS/2 programming is VERY different LE> from Windows/DOS. Apart from the afore mentioned amiga GUI work, i never really bothered with windows as eventually going to swich to OS/2 :) Cheers, Brett --- Maximus/2 3.00* Origin: Space Now!
