And ain't that plumb silly? It sure would be nice to choose among nodes,
based on speed. You kind of can.....with the v.34 and v.FC fields, but for
nodes that don't have v.34/v.FC, you sure can't tell the difference betwixt
9600-bps and 14400-bps capabilities.
Now even with v.34, it's the same way.....you can't tell 28.8-kbps from 33.6.
Just between you and me, the nodelist needs a good rework and furthermore, it
needs to be maintained on the server; not at the node level. Not that I
care, because my Pentiums can process the nodelist in seconds, but on my old
XT, it used to take HOURS!!!! That's ridiculous!
