Wendy-
I was reading your post about your pain and lack of money.I assume
you do not qualify for public assiatance, have you ever heard of the P"patient
Assistance Program"?I am a nurse and I used to work for a doctor and I used
to deal with this program all the time.It is based on $$$ but is for those
who do not have insurance but don't qualify for public assistance. The
paerwork can be overwhelming, but the end result, is you usually get 3 months
worth of your meds free. You have to deal with each individual drug
manufacturer.Call your doctor and ask them about it,if they are hesitant, get
access to a PDR(library) and look up the drug company by name. There is a
whole index in the front of the PDR in alphabetical order. They almost all
have a toll free customer service #- ask them about the program.Find out if
they will send the paperwork to you or do they have to send it to your
doctor. If you get the paper work, you complete it, send it to your doctor
for his part to fill out and then wait.It can take several months, but my
friend got a 3 month supply of asthma medication for her daughter that runs a
120 buck a month. The other drawback, is because it takes so long, only a few
weeks after you get the medicine, you get to start the paperwork again! Hope
this helps you!
