Hi Sue,
 I myself do not own a Lorie but I have read many articles pertaining to 
them.They are considered one of the most entertaining parrots one can 
own.They are playful, very smart and excellent talkers. They supposedly have 
a very high pitched but sweet voice, because they will learn to mimic almost 
anything and repeat any phrase taught to them [or the ones you would rather 
they didn't repeat :) ] noisey usually isn't a word used to describe them. 
 
 The only problem that might arise is if brought into a multi-bird house they 
will pick up the calls and screeches of other species.
