Hi Graeme, I'm sure Pete doesn't mind REXX questions. You might like to ask your sysop (yourself?) to obtain the OS2REXX echo for you, where we specialise in this sort of thing. GG> I would like to know how you can edit a line in a text file with GG> REXX. Say I have a line of 50 characters and I want to add the time GG> at the end of it. Well, it's all in the preparation. If you have pre-allocated the spaces in each record when you wrote out the file to create it, you can use the STREAM built-in function with the SEEK command to write bytes in the exact location within the file. Have a read of your REXX.INF on this function.
