MR>So why can't heat convection be used to move the whole water mass? I ask
MR>because my old home had a hot water radiator system which worked quite
MR>well without any pump whatsoever and it provided ample heat even in -40
MR>degree weather. Perhaps you might look into considering wood pellets or
MR>chips so that feeding the fire could be an automated task?
I don't know eneough about how those systems work, to really
respond...but I thought those were High pressure boiler systems. I do
not want to have that high of a pressure cooker next to my house. I
remember in school having those old radiator's, that leaked rust. very
effectivce at heating though, if the janitor got to work early eneough
to start it up. If someone can tell me how to do without a pump I would
consider it, I just dont think the system I envision will have eneough
capacity to be effective w/o a pump. Is this the type of system you
had???
I have considered an auger feed at some time...but right now I
mainly want to get some heat in the house ASAP. If and when I do
decide to is their any basic programs in shareware for a
project to automate this sort of project? I would probably be
looking at a temperature sensor or two and possibly an o2 sensor to
monitor combustion. I am already looking at utilizing a 286 or xt
board to monitor temperature at the heat exchanger in order to turn
on/off the blower motor, combined with an inside thermostat and
     monitor.
thank you for your response, Gary.collier@omnibbs.com
