 I don't think I misread you. I think the word suprised was in error.
My use of it. Actually I wasn't surprised Roger. I was expecting too
much.

 What I expected was to be treated as a person who happens to be
deaf, and found instead by most I am treated as a deaf person. The
xenophobia is what is what makes being disabled harder than what one
must endure of the disability itself. That , is the hard work.

  I guess I thought too highly of people because I had had thee
happy fortune of meeting SOME who do accept me as a person. I guess I
got spoiled. The majority don't. This last bit is the part I'm slow to
'learn' (accept).
