It seems like they had a similar idea:: "Hey, I'll find out what some
diplomats are saying or thinking about each other behind each others'
backs, and I'll release it, that will get a bunch of attention!"

Except Byron just threatened to do it and these guys actually did.

Even just mailing them privately isn't going to have the effect that
doing it in public will. Russian, Saudi, Iranian, a lot of peoples'
stuff just got aired.
