SFM 28.8 modems built before a certain date require the new data pump
upgrade. Those built after that date do not, and can be flashed up
to a 33.6. Supra probably looked at the build date of your data pump
and gave you the correct info.
From your favorite terminal program, type "ati7" and press .
You will see something like: RC288DPi Rev 05BA. If you have the Rev
05B or newer data pump, you can flash your SFM 28.8 ROM to 33.6...
... My modem isn't slow. It's "baudly" challenged.
