Here in Montreal and suburbian area path that do not travel in a logical
direction or end up in in the middle of nowhere can also be found. If most of
your path systems are like this then it would not hurt to send a letter to
your government to let them know. It seems that some cities put up path just
to show that they are thinking about bicycle saftey, but know proper planning
goes into the design. Another annoying path problem is when the path is built
on a sidewalk. As one passes driveways the path curves down so you get this
up and down effect as you ride. Speeds must be kept low or you can go out of
control. In this circumstance I stay off the path and use the road next to
it. I imagine if the police saw me they would tell me to get on the path.
This one path that has this problem plus has hydro poles and pedestrian
walkway also included make this a very dangerous situaion. I stay of and
bypass this area to rejoin the path later.
