Any 1400/140 made will generally need to have the pump arm held open for
at least a half count to intake a full gulp of air. When I run across
some with a lot of pivot wear these tend to exaggerate the problem. I
modify the pump so it opens up to the stop (piston guide hitting front
plug). That way this phenom is reduced/eliminated. Since the levers for
this gun are unobtainium you need to stay on top of pivot wear so the
lever remains serviceable. If you buckle or thrash it it is over for
that gun unless you can scrowl up another lever.
