Hello Roy. 09 Mar 03 20:01, you wrote to me: RJT>> Try man sox, perhaps? :-) If I run across it again I'll let you RJT>> know where... It is god for a great deal, which unfortunately means a great deal of reading and time spent experimenting or testing. :-) RT> Right now I'm running gramofile again, getting another tape into RT> .wav, after which I can split it into tracks get it into .mp3 files. Also easyier to work with a 300 megabyte wave file than a 600 megabyte wave file. I RT> wonder if I need a bit of spray cleaner in there or something. I RT> wonder if I can even find it, anywhere in this mess? :-) All miniheadphone jacks are not born equal, nor are they all the same dimensions, so there might be no problem with the connection, then the jack on the card might not be "quite" up to spec, or the one on the lead you used to record with. Currently looking for a intergrated amplifier I can put real close to my computer to make life easier, currently I have to pull my computer apart, assemble next to the Hi-Fi in the lounge, record, then reverse the process, back to my room where I work on the files and do the transfer to CD-ROM, which I do not appreciate having to do.
