Jeff, at 14:31 on May 28 1995, you wrote to Paul Edwards... JG> Here's what I've been using: JG> MODE COM2:38400,N,8,1,DTR=OFF,RTS=HS,OCTS=ON,TO=ON,XON=OFF,BUFFER=ON JG> I got that off Bill G. I'll try it with the 'BUFFER=OFF' tonight. That will simply disable your 16550's FIFO buffer. PE> mode com3:38400,n,8,1,idsr=off,odsr=off,octs=on,rts=hs,dtr=on,to= PE> off, buffer=on JG> I'll try this next. There are more switches, but as they're the system defaults, it's not necessary to mention them. Some of Paul's suggestions are therefore redundant, and the TO=OFF won't make any difference, as having it ON simply disables the serial port after 1000 unsuccessful interrupts, something which I'd expect to see happen only under the most extreme circumstances. I did actually put quite a lot of time into understanding the value and necessity of using the MODE statement, which is explained very poorly in the OS/2 manuals. A damn good book, was "OS/2 Unleashed"... Regards, Bill @EOT: --- Msgedsq/2 3.10 alpha* Origin: Save our native fauna. Kill a cat today!
