I ordered the 96 version from Xerox because I'm not using Win 95 on
anything, at home or at work.  The full version of the Caere OCR s/w
bundled with the scanner would've included both its current Win 95
and its last Win 3.1 versions, but it was $130, while the Xerox s/w
was $80 (plus shipping) and seemed to be a better value.
