I'm not sure what the first horror video game was, but it wasn't RE. A horror 
game came out for the NES called Chiller several years before RE was 
released. I know it was available on it's own cart and I own it on a Maxi 15 
game NES cart. It's a light gun game where you have to shoot zombies, demons, 
ghosts, etc. in order to find some talismans. I believe it was released in 
'89. Does anybody else know of any earlier horror games?
