PE>> I finally got hold of MASM and was able to test out whether WASM PE>> was MASM compatible or not. It's not, despite being advertised PE> assembler". Unless they mean version 1.0 of MASM or something, PE> it is simply false advertising, as masm 5.1 supports the "type" PE> keyword, whilst wasm doesn't. BFN. Paul. You only have to deal with MASM 5.1 code ? Boy, are you lucky. I have to deal with code designed for MASM 6.11c and 6.11d, which uses all these weird (WEIRD) statements, and is designed to link with coff libraries. It's impossible to port these. It proved faster and easier to work out how to run MASM in OS/2 (which is no mean feat, and the linker STILL won't work in OS/2 because it's a PE-format executable. Can apparently be loaded in straight DOS by a little cunning skulduggery involving some files from Windows 4.0, but I've given up on that, it's too complex). } Telstra (0419) 320415 * Optus (0412) 809805 * Vodafone (0414) 927056 --- GoldED 2.41+* Origin: ZWSBBS +61-3-9827-6881 28800bps Multiline (3:634/396) SEEN-BY: 620/243 632/103 341 348 998 633/371 634/384 387 396 635/301 502 503 SEEN-BY: 638/102 639/252 640/820 690/660 711/409 410 413 430 807 808 809 934 SEEN-BY: 711/949 955 712/515 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 634/396 384 635/503 632/348 711/409 808 809 934 |
