David, at 07:05 on Jun 27 1995, you wrote to Paul Edwards... PE> Someone I know is going to get several V.34 modems. It's PE> been nearly six months since the V.34 modems were available, PE> and I haven't yet seen a definitive answer to which one is PE> the most reliable. Anyone? DD> Surely you're not serious with this question! Yeah, the mind boggles somewhat. DD> The is ONLY ONE V.34 modem worth considering! Two actually. The V.34 Sportster is also extremely reliable. My new EPROM arrived the other day (FOC, I might add), and although I had no real problems anyway, the new chip now allows solid V.FC connects with that one particular Maestro I was having trouble with (dunno why, as the problem appeared to be absolutely shithouse lines, and they haven't improved one iota). DD> David (unbiased) Doesn't matter anyway, you have every right to be biased, as the USR Courier is indeed the best of the current bunch. By heaps, too.
