He's just mad because he isn't in it, kind of like the current movies.

Meanwhile, most of the cast looks bored/scared except for the guy playing 
Chekov.  The Chekov guy looks like he is having his dream come true.

I don't believe that.  Sure, the video is low quality and lame humor (what 
more would you expect for the miniscule amount of $60,000), but it probably 
makes for a better training seminar opening than if a straight video had 
been made (which would likely cost about as much).
