Now, these event handling  systems  aren't  OO  usually.  The  primary
programming language these systems were designed for is C.
There  is  a well documented way of doing event handling very flexibly
using  OO  techniques.  You  can  find  it   on   the   Web:   go   to
http://www.cs.wustl.ed/~schmidt   and  look  for  the  Reactor  design
pattern.
