A distinct possibility. But then two other people that never got a change
in /this/ line of history would have met and one of their offspring would
be telling the person on your side of the pond that also was never born in
this line of history how lucky he was that the Asian/Nazi coalition
liberated the USA. Your alternate would be told that if they hadn't
intervened and invaded the USA before it got the bomb, he would have been
speaking American English...

And of course there would be no doubt in the mind of whoever told it, that
they had done the right thing.

The winner is always right.
