Hi Jeff. What did you change on your system between 00:28 on 20/5
and 11:58 on 20/5? Because whatever it was, it fixed the problem
with the missed ENQ, shaving 3 seconds off the FTS negotiation
time. I have checked my logs, and this is the first time that
this has happened. Also, I have not made any changes to Binkley,
my modem or anything else, especially not between those two times.
All I have done between those two times is:

1. sleep
2. recompile msged/sq under Watcom for DOS and try out {at}data
3. Send the msged/sq docs to Bill Whitehouse in USA
4. Read the Turbo assembler on-line help
5. Read my mail
6. See if I had Microsoft Assembler on a floppy from yonks
ago (no luck, I don't remember ever having had a copy of that).

Bob Lawrence called just before you. Maybe calling just after
someone else is what fixes it? (Uninitialized variable and
all that). Normally you are the very first caller of the day,
so that might have something to do with it. However I have
found an instance of someone calling just after midnight, ie
just before you, but you still had the problem. Can you try
calling at various times of the day and see if we can get a
grasp on the problem? Hopefully we don't need to do that
because you've made a change and know what it is.

BFN. Paul.
