CM> 9's a bad bet also because it is a cascaded interrupt to 2.
  A good friend made this 2 & 8 clear to me th eother day.
Irq 2 is a gateway for irq 8-15 (tied to Irq 9)
Irq 9 is a test link to irq 2
 Offhand I'd say irqs 2 & 9 are out of bounds if there is a HD or math
co-processor in a system :-)))
