Message-ID: http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/040609/95446_1.html Press Release Source: World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. World Wrestling Entertainment Selects The Media Kitchen As Media Agency of Record Wednesday June 9, 10:21 am ET STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 2004--After an extensive review, World Wrestling Entertainment® (NYSE:WWE - News) said today that it has chosen The Media Kitchen of New York City to be its Media Agency of Record. Under this agreement, The Media Kitchen will handle planning and placement of traditional and alternative media on both the national and regional level, including consumer and trade advertising. Billings are estimated to be $8 million. WWE®'s in-house creative team will continue to develop all creative executions across media platforms. Building on the record-breaking success of WrestleMania® XX and the recent resurgence for its television programming, WWE believes that The Media Kitchen has the recipe to drive the WWE brand to even greater success. "We're really pleased to add The Media Kitchen to the WWE team," said Dan Levi, WWE Vice President, Marketing. "We were greatly impressed with The Media Kitchen's organization, experience, and passion for WWE's business. They bring a unique combination of strategic insights and creative innovation, and I'm certain they will become a central ingredient in our brand-building efforts." "We are delighted to have been chosen as Agency of Record for WWE after such a thorough, professional and competitive review, and are eager to embark on this new partnership," said Paul Woolmington, CEO (Head Chef) The Media Kitchen. "We are enthusiastic about our recipe of ideas and innovations and look forward to exciting the consumer about the WWE brand and all its assets." The Media Kitchen's primary assignment will be support of WWE's weekly television programs: Monday Night RAW® (Spike TV, 9 p.m. ET) and WWE SmackDown!(TM) (UPN, 8 p.m. ET on Thursdays). The agency also will focus on promoting WWE Pay-Per-View events. Its first initiative will be in support of the recently announced $250,000 Raw Diva Search, a summer-long promotion on Monday Night Raw to find the next WWE "Diva" amongst a pool of beautiful women from the continental United States. The media agency search is the most recent element of a concerted WWE effort focused on growing the WWE franchise. Earlier this year, WWE hired Philadelphia-based brand consultancy Kanter International to assist on strategic research and brand development initiatives. WWE has also been tapped to receive a ProMax BDA Brand Builders Award for its year-long WrestleMania XX marketing campaign. Using the occasion of WrestleMania XX as the platform of a plan to celebrate all things WWE, the company attained ratings success and unprecedented awareness and interest in WWE. With a mix of traditional national media, targeted local buys, and street-level guerrilla marketing, WWE appealed to former fans, current viewers, and new samplers. World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: WWE - News) is an integrated media and entertainment company headquartered in Stamford, Conn., with offices in New York City, Los Angeles, Toronto and London. Additional information on the company can be found at wwe.com and corporate.wwe.com. The Media Kitchen is a new kind of media company designed to address new kinds of media and communication challenges clients face today. The Media Kitchen defines media as "anything that can carry a branded message and impact the consumer" and believes that media strategy should be an essential component to any brand's message, not merely a means of distributing it. Clients include The Andrew Jergens Company, Brown and Williamson, Citibank AAdvantage, Liberty Mutual, PBS, SciFi Channel, Song Airways, Timex, USA Network, Verizon SuperPages, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and others. The Media Kitchen is part of the MDC backed kirshenbaum bond + partners group. --- Internet Rex 2.29* Origin: The gateway at Swills (1:555/5555) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 555/5555 229/3000 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
