I've got the hankering to lose some 10-15 more pounds of flab, with the
express idea of doing some off-road racing.
Specifally, there's a race in this part of the world that goes 62k
cross-country, and starts with a mother of a hill-climbing section at the
start: 10k,about an hour to two hours, depending on skill and ability.
Soon, I shall be purchasing a new cycle - one with XT/XL componentry, I may
add. But what I would like to do is some training.
So, here on the Wet Coast, it rains. Lots. How can I supplement cycling with
decent training - that doesn't include running, because I just don't run?
I'm playing badminton once a week, and commuting to work (in raingear if ugly
- blick) each day (20K). When weather permits, I'm doing some roadwork,
incorporating hill climbs, some ugly, others not so. Eventually, I'll get to
do some off-road hill-climbs too - weather permitting.
I need inside stuff I can do, even late at night. Thoughts? Suggestions?
