But when there is a risk, I accept it, and wear safety gear. I'd have been in 
hospital today if not for wearing correct safety gear when the situation 
warranted it.

Actually, today was the closest I have come to spilling my bike - going 
around a corner (wet) when every car in front suddenly hauled on the brakes 
in a place they ain't supposed to. I locked the rear (cheap new on/off tire, 
I guess) and it got squirrely on me. Right there and then, I realized that if 
I was going to crash, ther was one bit of protective gear I'd love to have - 
kneepads. :)
