Microsoft BASIC PDS 7.x will generate 16-bit OS/2 programs. Just try
running BC.EXE from an OS/2 prompt instead of a DOS prompt, or
(alternatively) using the -Lp command line switch.

If you want to use the potential of OS/2 2.x or 3.x, there are 32-bit
BASICs around (such as Liberty BASIC and BWBASIC). Porting the code
from Microsoft BASIC is, of course, going to be a non-trivial task,
but (from what has been posted here in OS2PROG over the past two
years) should not present any insurmountable difficulties.
