I liked the craziness of the numbers with the secret meaning, "The Gift of 
the Magi" lottery win, and his institutionalization. They shouldn't have 
killed off that woman who turned out to have been a mental patient; could 
have done something with that story like, I dunno, explain more about the 
number and how they were all chosen to be stranded.

On "Lost", even the filler has filler. They went too far,
although at least 
they kept his backstory consistent, unlike Kate's. But they did have to 
explain why he lost no weight.

Perhaps only the first half of the first season. I understand the show was 
initially conceived as a miniseries. That would have worked.
