Message-ID: http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/mld/ledgerenquirer/entertainment/8493492.htm Fri, Apr. 23, 2004 Lesnar injured in bike crash TextBrock Lesnar, heralded as "The Next Big Thing" by World Wrestling Entertainment, has run into a collision much more injurious than the opponents he faced in WWE rings. Lesnar was hospitalized this week for injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash near the University of Minnesota, where he attended college. Police say Lesnar was on his motorcycle around 6 p.m. last Saturday when the vehicle collided with a minivan which pulled in front of him. Lesnar's agent John Wolf said his client was taken to Hennpin County Medical Center. Doctors removed glass from Lesnar's forehead -- which ostensibly did more damage than some of the blows which his WWE opponents would frequently deliver. He required more than a dozen stitches. Lesnar returned to training in Arizona at midweek. He is in extensive workouts in an effort to play in the National Football League this season. Skies too 'friendly' While WWE wants everyone to keep attention on last Sunday's "Backlash" pay-per-view in which a three-way world title match between Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels (Michael Hickenbotten) and Hunter Hearst Helmsley (Paul Levesque) stole the show, the company's attention is on a far more serious legal matter. Two Arizona flight attendants have filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the company, a Phoenix charter service and at least three named wrestlers (including former world champion Ric Flair). Taralyn Cappalano and Heidi Doyle claim in the suit they "were pawed, groped, and sexually harassed" during a May 2002 flight from Europe. Flair, now 55, is accused in the suit of forcing more than one attendant to touch his private area while he also "forcibly detained and restrained" another attendant "while he sexually assaulted her." Scott Hall is accused of propositioning one of the women to engage in a sexual act with him. Dustin Runnels, the former Goldust, is said to have grabbed one attendant and made "sexually lewd comments." The lawsuit does not specify monetary damages. A complete transcript of the legal papers is available at www.thesmokinggun.com, an online information service of Court TV. --- Internet Rex 2.29* Origin: The gateway at Swills (1:555/5555) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 555/5555 229/3000 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
