Here in Tacoma, Washington, they put in one or two bike paths, which don't go 
very far, are dangerous and dirty, and do not connect to anything in any 
logical manner (one empties out near a freeway that is for auto-traffic 
only).  City planning by the Marx Brothers (Harpo, Chico, Zeppo, and Karl).

But seriously, you're right, and it was just a convenient example.  I 
probably could have chosen among a myriad of risky chosen behaviors, from 
rock climbing to hang gliding.
