Hello Greg -

GE>>> Thank you for sharing this with the rest of us. Have you
GE>>> done any other searches lately or just this one search?

CA>> Fixed about 10 broken links at my website. What have you
CA>> done lately?

GE> Search-wise? Well, I provided Wayne a link to F-prot's
GE> download site so he could update his year-out-of-date virus
GE> files, and I found a few pages of info on the RAM he needed.

GE> According to you, I shouldn't have done that.

That's not what I said nor even _close_ to anything I said.

CA>> After, it never occurred to me to do a search but I wasn't
CA>> constipated about proving anyone wrong either. ;-)

GE> Well, you certainly seem to have *something* stuck up your
GE> butt.

Lately, you.

GE>>> So either (until now) you were totally unaware of current
GE>>> development efforts,

CA>> I was totally unaware.

GE> So I brought awareness to your drab and meaningless life? I
GE> feel so honored.

Drab, possibly. Meaningless, no. It's important that I exist so
that computer illiterates have something to discuss - me.

CA>> Are you _that_ ugly or do you just smell bad?

GE> Picking up the latest insults from the school playground?

CA>> Yes I do have a problem with that. It was intended as a
CA>> dig.

GE> No it wasn't. I just mentioned that the engine you thought
GE> had totally "disappeared" was still being worked on by
GE> others. I thought someone here (maybe even YOU!) might have
GE> had their interest piqued enough to hit the web and
GE> investigate it for themselves.

You're not that niave nor am I.

GE> And of course, your original "Thank you for sharing..."
GE> wasn't a dig?

Yes, it was.

CA>> It supplied nothing but your one-upsmanship that you
CA>> display

GE> So providing information that a poster doesn't have is
GE> one-upmanship?

It was a "no you're wrong" response with no information
otherwise. I had to do my own search to gain information, you
supplied none.

GE> I guess the F-Prot and RAM info was "one-upping" Wayne, as
GE> he thought the free F-Prot was no longer supported, and the
GE> RAM info was hidden so deep at the site it appeared to be
GE> "scarce".

Depends how you 'delivered' it.

GE> In the future I'll remember to hold back any info I find,
GE> and let folks wallow in blissful ignorance.

When I was a child I was taught not to correct other people's
grammar, pronounciation, or spelling in front of other people
when it might embarass them. Sharing what you know shouldn't
hurt other people. If it does you're not 'helping' anyone but
yourself and your own ego.

I try to introduce new topics now and then, have you noticed? I
don't rely on posting "no you're wrong" messages as an excuse
to post.

CA>> in every echo I see you posting in.

GE> You must have the memory of an elephant. I've only posted
GE> about 50 messages (in the 14 echoes I read) since January
GE> of 2002.

I have a long memory but like other humans I make mistakes.
I've been watching you as long or longer than you have watched
me. I just don't normally discuss _persons_ in FIDO echos.
