Hi Marc--
PDS will compile (text mode only) and link for 16-bit OS2 (actually,
for OS/2 1.0). Microsoft called it "protected mode" at the time. Works
fine if you haven't included some assembled subroutines that break the
OS/2 rules. If your friend works hard enough, he can even make calls on
the OS/2 1.0 API using the "SRC" files furnished with the compiler.
These programs will run under OS/2 2.x and Warp, because of the smart
OS/2 2.0 architects who built in the tiled memory just for that purpose.
However, I have found that most well-behaved BASIC PDS programs
compiled for DOS run just as well in an OS/2 VDM, without requiring any
further effort.
