AB> TOS 64 5693.4 The Tholian Web
ED> "The Tholian Web" was specifically referred to in "Turnabout
ED> Intruder" yet you have it as occurring after TI. Clearly TTW is
ED> supposed to come before TI. The only way to place the episodes in
ED> chronological order is by using the production codes.
I understand that problems like this will arise when trying to make
some sence out of some question a person may have. As you know, I
originally did this to answer one question that I and many others have
had. The question being: "How could Khan know Chekov when Chekov wasn't
there when the Enterprise crew first met him?" This I did when I
discovered that the stardate for Space Seed was 3141.9 and the stardate
for Catspaw was 3018.2 Another influance to do this was when TNG
started putting episodes in stardate order as well as prodution order
starting with it's second season.
I also stated, later in my posts, that there was even a problem
with TNG stardates concerning the death of Tasha Yar. When she died, it
put a crink in the stardate timeline as well. This, you will see I, got
around. You can get around this problem the same way if you wish or, go
by the production codes.
There are several other problems with going by stardates which I
will admit. Another one I can readily think of was when I put in the
Animated series. If you go by stardates only, all the characters are
out of place because we never see them in TOS.
Also, if you go just by prodution codes for all of Star Trek, you
will see several problems arise in TNG that I can think of right away.
One being Unification II's prodution code is 207 and Unification I's is
208. There are other instances in TNG such as this as I'm sure there is
in DSN and VOY as well. You may even see this in TOS somewhere.
The main thing is, I looked at all of Star Trek as a whole or, more
plainly, as a contuation from one to the next. I'd rather think of them
that way than seperate entities since they do have strong conections to
each other, even the Animated series.
You have a method that works for you and I have one that works for me
and that's just fine. I have no arguments on any method. Nobody's
right and nobody's wrong. It's just a matter of what way you want to do
things.
One thing I have discovered, no one way is flawless, there will still
be some problem that needs to be solved no matter which way you want to
do things.
Thanks for pointing this detail out to me. It has been noted in my
files.

Artimus
