There's really no reason to get a 56k modem unless you have something to
connect to that's using a 56k "server" modem, like a BBS, ISP, etc.
Now a upgrade to 33600 -is- worth it, and since you don't have that, perhaps
a 56k is worth the upgrade for the benefit of getting the V34 (33600)
connects.
