Click "Start", "Run", type "cmd  /k  chkdsk 
/f" into the "Open" box and
click "OK".  If you just want chkdsk to scan for errors and not actually
perform repairs, leave off the "/f" switch.  To stop the scan,
press Ctrl-C.
