While riding a dragon bareback,
Jack cried out: IT
JS> JS> I think the ending fell a little short.
JS>
JS> JT> Yes, the ending of IT was kinda lame. They left out the
JS> JT> Turtle completely (remember, the creature that created the
JS> JT> universe one day when it had a belly ache ), didn't cover
JS>
JS>I have to agree with all of the above, Jim. The movie fell short on the "
JS>lights" for sure and, if you remember (book), the town was virtually destr
JS>in the end. With today's special effects, they could've done better. I
JS>wanted
JS>to see the standpipe go down.
Yeah ... in the book, by the time IT died, the Barrens was almost completely
destroyed, and most of the streets had craters in them. And watching the
standpipe go down would have been a wonderful effect. ;)
JS> JT> But all in all, it was a good movie. One of the first my
JS> JT> daughter really liked. Now, if I can just get her to read
JS> JT> the book. ;)
JS>
JS>I agree there, too. I have "IT" on tape along with others like "The Stand
JS>"The Langoliers", and the TV version of "The Shining". Getting the youngs
JS>to read _anything_ can be a chore. ;) Maybe... "The Eyes of the Dragon" o
JS>"The Talisman".
I've got "IT", "Tommyknockers", and "The Stand" on tape. My daughter didn't
like "The Stand", and I can understand that. It's one of those movies where
you have to sit still and watch and listen to the complete movie from
beginning to end, or you can't understand it. Try telling a pre-teen to sit
still and not talk for more than 5 minutes. ;)
"The Eyes of the Dragon" is a good one to start children out reading, but you
need to catch them young when they still believe in dragons. If you wait too
long, their imagination goes away and dragons don't mean anything anymore. ;)
Have a good one!
