Dave...
I got this post kinda late (Uncle Sam's Navy has
taken me away for a month), so I'm hoping you still are
seeking some advice. At any rate... Here's my input for
you if you're still hunting.
The middle of last year, I purchased a "middle of
the road" model of Command Communications, COMSHARE 450
Telephone Line Sharing Device. It cost me $78 dollars in the
Navy Base Store where I bought it. It worked great in
keeping my wife and kids from breaking my connection when I
was surfing the info highways. Unfortunately, My wife
complained that I was "Bogarting" the phone too much! After
three months of using this device (it connected up a
telephone, an answering machine, and a PC or FAX Modem on a
single line), I pulled the device and had another telephone
line installed just for my PC (and my Mrs. to get off my
back). I still have the device that I plan on putting in a
garage sale for $30. If you want it.... it's yours for the
same price, plus postage. Every things there, original box,
instructions, power supply and phone line. If you're
interested in saving a few bucks... drop me a post. If not,
no probs... they are still excellent work around for a
single phone line installation.
