I figured if I posted this here I would surely get the answer I was
looking for. I have a Blue-Front Amazon named Sqeaky. When we bought her
she had been in her cage for about a year without being let out... She
is a woman's bird (just ask my husband )
It took her awhile before she got up enough courage to come out of the
cage. The lady we got her from said she was a very good talker... After
about 2 months she proved the lady right. She is an excellent talker...
But she doesn't like to be touched...She will walk up to me and give me
kisses and nibble on my fingers... And she will jump up on my arm and
shoulder if my husband gets ahold of her But she just growls if we
reach in to get her.... Should I let her get used to me on her own or
should I try taking her out and handling her? It just seems to me when I
try to mess with her that it just sets us back. Thanks in advance for
any advice I can get!!!!!!
